Introduction
Modern vehicles are assemblies of thousands of small, critical components, many of which must be strong, corrosion resistant and dimensionally identical part to part. Investment casting is ideal for these parts because it produces a single, dense, near-net-shape component with the contoured geometry — integrated bosses, cored passages, complex brackets — that would otherwise require welding several stampings together or machining from a forging. Fewer joints means fewer failure points and lower assembly cost.

Production Process
Every automotive casting begins with a review of the drawing for function, draft and assembly features, followed by hardened tooling and a PPAP plan sized for the program. Wax patterns are injected and assembled, then built into a fine silica sol ceramic shell. After dewaxing and pour, the shell is removed, the part is cut from its runner, and functional features are CNC machined to drawing. Final inspection confirms chemistry, dimensions and, where specified, NDT before packing to your logistics schedule.
Material Options
Automotive programs balance performance and cost:
- 304 / CF8 — cost-effective corrosion-resistant stainless for exposed hardware.
- 316 / CF8M — stronger corrosion resistance for underbody and fluid-contact parts.
- 17-4PH — precipitation-hardening strength for structural and wear components.

Surface Finishing

Repeatable tolerances are what let an assembly line build to takt time and trust the fit on the first attempt.
Quality Control
Quality is engineered in, not inspected in. Our automotive program includes:

- Dimensional inspection on CMMs against the CAD model.
